Track Name: Sir Mault (P-Ray)
Sir Mault (John Barleycorn), by P-Ray, from texts drawn from various 16-18th Century writings

There was three kings into the east,
three kings both great and high,
and they hae swore a solemn oath,
John Barleycorn must die.
John Barleycorn should die.

They took a plough and turn'd him down,
smashed clods upon his skull,
but Barleycorn got up again and sore surprised them all.

They took a weapon, long and sharp, and cut him by the knee,
then tied him fast upon a cart, like a rogue for forgerie.

They laid him out upon the floor to work him further woe,
yet still his signs of life appeared, so they tossed him to and fro.

They wasted o'er a scorching flame the marrow of his bones,
but the miller used him worst of all,
for he crushed him between two stones.

But Mault gave the miller such a blow,
that from his horse he fell full low.
He taught him his master, Mault for to know.
You never saw the like sir.

So when the mault did work in their heads,
twice a day they would be sped.
At night, they couldn't even go to bed.
You never saw the like sir.

There was three kings into the east,
three kings both great and high,
'tho they hae swore a solemn oath,
John Barleycorn won't die.

Track Name: Lamentation and Hope (P-Ray)
All our hopes and dreams seemed to suddenly disappear
‘Lotta sadness, ’lotta fear. We grieve

Confusion all around, like we lost our atmosphere.
‘Lotta folks sayin’ they’re gonna get outta here. Don’t Leave
Just Breathe

The Scholar’s Prayer (unknown ancient anonymous source)
“From cowardice that shrinks from new truth,
From laziness, content with half-truths,
From arrogance, thinking it knows all truth,
Oh God of Truth, Deliver us.”

It’s hard to sleep, or cope, or even feel.
But we must live, and hope, and love and dream, and heal.
Stronger together, and without fear, Believe

Track Name: The Path (P-Ray)
Confession is good for the soul.
Compassion is food for the spirit.
Forgiveness releases the heart.
Comfort the sick and the suffering. Acceptance is the key.
Track Name: The Sky
There was a time back when I was a little boy.
We had a simple life, no need for lots of fancy
toys. Lived a good life, simple farm life;
Cows and cats and barns and dogs and ponds
and fields and frogs and Oh that Missouri Sky!

But I grew up, went off to school
Worked hard in life. Lived like a fool.
I roamed the world for knowledge and fame.
Met lots of people doing the same.
Plowing the soil of my career.
To harvest much, yet still these fears.
Is this all? Life rolling by. The years they fly...

While we forget to just step back, and pause and breathe
and just look up and take it in. And see that wondrous awesome sky!

I found much peace there in the faces of my family. The love and calm I felt it let me glimpse the sanity
of a right life. Simple good life.

I worked so hard to reach, fulfill
The goals out there were somewhere still
The voices there inside my head
Please Silence Them! Oh Please I Said!
Is this all? Life rolling by.
The years they fly… while we forget.

Now I recall back when I was just a little boy.
We had a simple life, no need for lots of fancy toys.
Lived a good life, simple farm life.

When I look up into the sky... Every kind of cloud formation,
The clouds with the mountains giving punctuation.
And the snow The cirrus, altos, stratus, and lenticular.
All the weather Notus, Evrus, Zephyrus, Boreus, all in Aelous.

What’s it all for?

If we never take the time to see what’s been there all the while,
we may lose the chance to dance, and sing, and smile.
Grace and gifts of gratitude are there to just accept.
The meaning of life, is just to be lived,
and all of us should take this simple gift,
and just look up, and take it in, and see that awesome sky!

And now a child again, I’ve found a friend in the sky.
The love and calm I felt, it let me glimpse the sanity. The Sky!
That being loving, caring, is itself a lofty goal. The Sky!

That faith in life & love would keep me safe & warm & whole.

Applegate Sky!

Now I recall back when I was just a little boy.

Oh that Missouri Sky!

We had a simple life, no need for lots of fancy toys.

The Sky!
Track Name: From Ikaria (P-Ray)
From Ikaria, by P-Ray (adapted from a poem by *Erasmus Darwin)

On feathered wings, by Zephyr’s breezes driven,
High’r, yet high’r, my precious boy did fly,
thru thin clouds, sailing upward toward heaven.
Sun glints, flashing, warm wings in the sky.
Did he not hear my warning, pleading cries?

from Ikaria....

With melting wax and failing loosened strings,
his limbs distorted, and dishevel'd hair.
My IKARUS fell on those failing wings.
Whirling round, deaf to my dire alarms,
’til DEATH received him in her sable arms.

His scattered plumage floats upon the waves, (…Thalassa…)
and o’er his corpse the pearly sea-flowrs shed. (…Thalassa…)
As sorrowing Mermaids deck his watery grave; (…Thalassa…)
and crimson moss strews his resting bed;

In coral towers peel the pausing bells,
along with chorus of lamenting shells… (…Thalassa…)
Across the ocean toll the echoing knells.

Now must I leave my darling lost boy child,
I mourn so deep my heart will surely break.
This isle named for him’s what I must recall,
and carry on somehow, his memory’s sake.

So from Ikaria I take my leave,
and west to Sicily, I sail, and grieve…
